Suzanne Poole reports on Audlem WI: "The latter part of the year promises to be as entertaining and informative as the first for Audlem W.I
The September speaker tested our memories by displaying curios and memorabilia, some of which dated back to the 1800s, which we had to identify amidst much hilarity. In October the speaker regaled us with murderous stories of men who killed off their wives.
"The A.G.M is on November 6th and the following day a group of members are
attending an "Edwardian Christmas Luncheon with Musical Entertainment" at Walton Hall. If last year's event is anything to go by, it will be great and will set us in the mood for December's meeting which tells the history and humour of the music hall, yet another trip down Memory Lane.
"Later on in the month another outing to tickle the tastebuds is to The Chocolate House in Oswestry with another Christmas lunch and a chocolate making demonstration with
tastings – yum. yum!
"The next festive occasion is the annual dinner at Brookfield Golf Club on January 17th when we will be entertained by the Kipling Singers."
