This meeting was well attended, the President welcomed three new members and two visitors.

Apologies were given from three members.

The speaker was Keith Avemy who gave an excellent talk on the late Harold Shipman, General Practitioner and serial killer. In 2000 Shipman was found guilty of murdering 15 patients under his care and was sentenced to life imprisonment. Shipman hanged himself in his cell in 2004. Although a grim tale, it was a fascinating insight into this prolific serial killer.

Next year the AGM is being held at the Royal Albert Hall, as it is the turn of our Institute to send a delegate, members were asked to let the Secretary know if they were interested. It is a very moving occasion and a great honour to be able to attend this annual meeting. We only get the chance to send a delegate every three/four years.

Various Club dates were given, Luncheon Club will meet at the Shroppie Fly on Tuesday 17th October at 12.00 o'clock. Pat Jones organising.

Rummikub on the 12th October at the home of Christine Salisbury.

Chris Rhodes is happy to restart the Book Club, if interested, please contact her. The suggested book is Murder in the Woods, meeting 6 weeks later to discuss.

November is the Annual Meeting, nominations were taken for the Committee, two names were put forward. The Speaker is Cath Kelly on Wicker Weaving. Please do feel free to come along to this meeting, we would love to see you.

Birthday flowers were given out to two members by Anne Poole and as it was her birthday month, she was given a bouquet for all her hard work each month. She also made a lovely table display arranged in a pumpkin – this went into the raffle.
The President thanked everyone for coming.
