Audlem WI November Report

Audlem WI held their Annual Meeting this week which was well attended in view of the weather!

Four Committee members retired and fortunately four new members joined the Committee.

In 2022 we found ourselves without a Committee as the previous members had retired/resigned. 15 members attended the Annual Meeting in 2022 and with the help of our Group Convenor we managed to get a President, Secretary and Treasurer to keep the W.I. going. Our membership has increased from 15 to 35 members, remarkable achievement in one year.

After all the formal business, Annual Report, Financial Report etc. we were entertained by Sheila Jones with a craft making demonstration in which everyone joined in making a Christmas bauble. Sheila had prepared packs of everything that was required and we were asked to bring along scissors, craft knife and a credit card (President had a supply of plasters)!! The credit card was to score the polystyrene ball. This proved to be great fun with everyone joining in and enjoying one another’s company.

Afternoon tea was provided during the craft session.

Raffle and birthday flowers were handed out and Sheila was given a posy for standing in at the last minute as our booked Speaker had to cancel at the last minute.

Our December meeting will be our Christmas Party which the Committee have organised.

We look forward to welcoming new members in the New Year.
