Audlem continued their impressive start to the 2023 season with a convincing 10 wicket win over Audley. On a humid day, with thunderstorms lurking, Audlem captain Christopher Shenton, won the toss and had no hesitation in electing to bowl.

With opening bowler Jayan unavailable, left arm swing bowler Kemal Toraman took the new ball from the car park end. Alongside Swift, the opening bowlers caused havoc. Swift and Toraman bowled unchanged for eight overs, accounting for 8 of the 10 Audley wickets. Despite some stubborn resistance from the experienced Birkin (19 from 77 balls), Audley were dismissed for your 76 and 32 overs. Swift finished with 5-21 and Toraman 3-16.

> With rain in the air after tea, skipper Shenton and his opening partner, Daniel Butler knew that they would have to be aggressive in order to chase the required runs before the rain hit. However, no one could've predicted the carnage that was to unfold. Unbelievably, Audlem chased down the the 77 runs required for victory in just over five overs! Butler, hitting a rapid half-century and finishing 53, not out from just 22 balls in a magnificent display of power-hitting. His innings included nine fours and two huge maximums.

This innings proved to be crucial, as within five minutes of the conclusion of the match, the heavens opened. The win keeps Audlem top of the league in the lead up to their crunch game against fellow promotion hopefuls Rode Park.
