Audlem urgently needs Assistant Scout Leaders!

Audlem Scouts is thriving, currently supporting 75 children across the 3 sections of Scouts, Cubs, Beavers. However, the running of Cubs & Scouts (with children aged between 8 to 10 and 10 ½ and 14) is currently under threat due to a shortage of leaders to run these sections. Unfortunately if we do not have some new leaders come forward these 2 sections will have to close in Audlem.

We have a great group of experienced and friendly Leaders and are looking for people who are happy to join the team and support Cubs & Scouts on a regular basis. As an Assistant Leader there are lots of opportunities to carry out additional training and obtain permits on everything from Climbing to dragon boating and rifle shooting! The resources are there in the wider Scouting community if you wish to take advantage, or you can simply turn up to work with the children in Audlem and still get such a lot out of this fantastic organisation, helping to develop young people with skills for life.

Scouting is a fantastic opportunity for young people to get involved in a wide range of activities from astronomy, circus skills and craft to the more traditional Scout skills such as camping, hiking, climbing , archery and more.

Cubs & Scouts meet every week in the Scout hall from 6.30pm – 8.30pm (on Wednesday’s and Monday’s respectively). Our aim is to recruit 2-3 Leaders, which would mean not all Leaders would need to attend each week, reducing the individual commitment required. New leaders would be supported by experienced district leaders as they settle in to help with planning and delivering a fun programme for the children.

If you are interested in helping or would like a chat to learn more about what is involved, please contact Ian Potts (District Commissioner) on 07970 424391 – ian.potts@swcscouts.org.uk / dc@swcscouts.org.uk
