Tim Elliott (on behalf of the ATB Welsh 3000 team)writes: "Our team of five Extreme walkers are attempting to walk the Welsh 3000s. This is considered by most to be the hardest walking challenge in the UK.

"The team are all Cheshire/Audlem lads – Tim Elliott, Will Williams, Connor Mcilwrath, Andrew Sherwood and Jack Shepard. The walk involves ascending all peaks over 3000 feet in the Snowdonia area in 24 hours. In total there are 15 with an approximate total ascent of 13,000 feet, which is just less than half the height of Everest (45% to be precise).

"We have decided to raise money for the Welsh Air Ambulance for two reasons.

Firstly, we like the irony of raising money for an organisation who may need

to rescue us! And secondly, they are a very worthy charity who can offer an

emergency service to anyone in the Wales area due to any sort of accident

(be it in a car, bike, walk etc).

"It's going to take us around 16 hours to complete (barring blisters) which is

why we judge it to be the most difficult challenge any of us have

undertaken. We therefore decided to raise as much money as

possible towards our chosen charity given the difficulty of the task.

"Donating through Justgiving on the link attached is quick, easy and totally

secure. It takes around 2 minutes and, if you're a taxpayer, Justgiving

makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your

donation.
