Audlem 1st XI have moved into second place in the scrap to gain promotion to Division 1 of the Cheshire Cricket Alliance. Whilst they were winning at Heaton Mersey Village by 56 runs, their rivals Frodsham and Saughall were fighting out a draw.
As a result, with just one game remaining, Audlem now have 339 points, Frodsham 334 and Saughall 326 (not 316). Haslington are already crowned as Division 2 champions.
Next Saturday Audlem are at home to Saughall, whilst Frodsham entertain Mossley. If you have any time to spare, why not go up to the Gorse Croft and support your local team.
A full report on the game will follow tomorrow.
