The next ten days are particularly busy this year, with many opportunities to listen to the memories and ambitions of the Year 6 children, who are leaving Audlem St James school this summer and moving on to High school, with their Leaver's assemblies for parents and carers, finishing on 23 July with their Leaver's service in St James Church.
Children, Staff, Parents and Governors are also saying 'Goodbye and Thank You' to Mrs Jewitt who has been Headteacher here for the past seven years and has achieved so much, ensuring our school and its children thrive, succeed and 'Let Their Light Shine'.
Mr Andrew Perry has been appointed as Acting Headteacher for the autumn term, with Governors planning to make a permanent appointment to take effect on 1 January 2020.
Below is the text of a letter sent to parents earlier this term;
After seven years as Headteacher at Audlem St James C.E. Primary School, I will be leaving school at the end of this term to take up a new role as Headteacher at Whitby Heath Primary School in Ellesmere Port.
During my time at Audlem St James, it has been my privilege to work with such talented and committed staff and Governors, supportive parents and carers, a dedicated PTA team and a wonderful Church and wider village community. The children at our school are exceptional and I have thoroughly enjoyed working with each child over the last seven years and watching them blossom and flourish.
When I arrived at this school in 2012, I committed to bringing a period of stability to school and I shared with staff, Governors, children and our wider school family my vision for our school. This vision was for our school to become a beacon at the heart of the community where everyone is valued and can achieve their best as a result of excellence and enjoyment being at the heart of all we do. I am confident that this is true of our school both now and this will continue to be true into the future. Our school is truly a wonderful place to be and a place we can all be rightly proud of.
We will be very sorry to lose Mrs Jewitt as our Headteacher and would like to record our appreciation of her time here where she has worked tirelessly to achieve the vision agreed by governors, staff, children and the community. However we also wish to record our congratulations to Mrs Jewitt on her new appointment at a much larger school and wish her continued success.
