To parents/carers, school colleagues and all other members of the school community
We are delighted to announce that the Regional Schools Commissioner (RSC) has approved
the application from Audlem St James' CE Primary School to join Brine MAT.
The idea of joining together in a MAT was first mooted in 2016 and the growth of the MAT
has been under discussion since then.
In the summer of 2020, there was a consultation regarding this growth and a lengthy
application process followed this. There are now a number of processes that have to take
place before this expansion can formally happen. This includes carrying out financial scrutiny
on both schools, as well as making some changes to the existing Articles of Governance; this
will include appointing some additional Members and Directors for the Trust Board. Also, as
previously agreed, the name of the MAT will change at this point and will become known as
Brine Springs Trust.
The Trust will work to ensure that the unique character of each school in the MAT will
remained unchanged and that the high quality of education currently being provided
continues. We believe that the children in our care will benefit from each school in the Trust
sharing expertise and are excited to see what new opportunities will arise for all children
across the MAT.
We will keep you updated on the process as it progresses.
