We understand that Cheshire East council's application to appoint an Interim Executive Board (IEB) as the governing body for Audlem St James' school is still with the Department of Education in London.

A large number of submissions and comments have also been put forward by governors, parents and guardians covering a wide range of views on the school.

Each of these has to be considered by the Department before the application is passed to a Minister for a decision on whether an IEB is to be appointed in place of the current Governing Body.

We are told by Cheshire East that they hope there will be news on the school's future governance before the new term starts. As this is an issue of interest to the wider community, we will bring further news when it is available.

In the meantime, we will continue our policy of not publishing comments related to the school on the Chatbox. This has been welcomed by many of those involved and we trust all will understand our position.
