At the Parish Council meeting on November 5th, Derek Barnes (Chairman of the IEB) and Janet Furber (chairman of the Shadow Governing Body) gave a brief overview of the situation at Audlem Primary School as the time approaches for the end of the IEB's role as Governing Body of the School and the handover to the Shadow Governing Body.
Mr Barnes described the result of the recent OFSTED inspection of the School as being as good as it could have been in the circumstances. The inspection found that the recommendations for improvements from the previous report were well in hand, although there is still some way to go to reach the "good" or even "outstanding" classificatioin.
He emphasised that the task now was for the School to work with the parents and the wider community to re-establish the reputation of the School. As this is successfully achieved, the numbers on the school roll should rise from 158 (the current figure) towards the 210 or so which represents the School's ideal level.
The IEB held a meeting with parents on November 1st to go through the OFSTED situation, and they have provided us with the content of a document given to the parents on this occasion – there is a link to download this file just below the photo.
