Audlem Saints put up a good display on Sunday and ran out 4-1 winners over Wistaston. The first period of the game saw Audlem under a little pressure. Unable to get the passing going, Audlem had to defend hard to keep the game goalless.

The play improved after the break and Audlem began to put a few passes together. The first goal was reward for an excellent passing move. Audlem moved the ball from goalkeeper to attacker in five quick, accurate passes. The shooting chance fell to a late arriving midfielder who made light of the fact that it was on his "wrong" foot and calmly swept the ball into the top corner. A great goal to put Audlem 1-0 up.

To their credit, Wistaston quickly hit back and equalised from a scrambled corner. That seemed to be the trigger that Audlem needed. Excellent passing and movement followed and three good, team goals followed. The final goal was very pleasing to see. Quick feet and good passing got the ball into an advanced area for the stiker who had already scored twice and was seeking his hat trick. There was a small chance of a shot on goal but there was a much better opportunity available if he simply rolled the ball to a team mate in open space. He wisely and unselfishly passed the ball and the game was wrapped up with a fourth goal.

With just two games to play, Audlem Saints are joint league leaders having played 12, won 10, lost 1 and drawn 1.
