Audlem Saints win after another clean sheet

Audlem Saints made it five wins from six matches in the current campaign with a 3-0 win over Red Dot on Sunday. In cold and wet conditions, the boys played some neat passing football and created plenty of chances. Stout Red Dot defending kept the scores level for about half of the game though. Finally a well worked short corner routine presented Saints with a clear but difficult chance. The ball was squeezed in left footed at the near post to open the scoring. A few minutes later, a defensive mistake presented the ball to a Saints striker and he made no mistake to double the lead. In the dying seconds, a nicely worked breakaway move was neatly finished by the same player.The 3-0 win (yet another clean sheet!) maintains Audlem Saints' position as joint league leaders. Next Sunday, the two joint leaders clash at the Soccer Centre, kick off 3.40.
