Audlem Parish Council investigate idea of a youth council

This week's Market Drayton Advertiser carries a story from the recent Parish Council meeting and reports that a youth council could be set up in Audlem to give youngsters a say in village matters.

Parish Councillors agreed to support the idea after chairman Richard Furber and Cllr. Geoff Stretch visited Audlem Youth Club to discuss the idea with youngsters. "We had one or two that were quite keen to get something set up," said Richard Furber. "We're going to attend a talk by a youth council at a county council meeting where they will be talking about how they set one up. Then we'll try and set up a meeting and see how much interest we get because if no-one attends the meeting then there is no point in taking it any further."
