New website
In the near future, the webteam are hoping to launch a new look and feel to Audlem Online.
We have been listening to comments from our readers, and we’re confident that our latest facelift will make Audlem Online easier to use, whilst allowing access to much more information and media.
For a number of reasons, including security and speed, the new version will not be compatible with old discontinued versions of Internet Explorer. Microsoft have started encouraging its users with older browsers to upgrade to IE8, or ideally, if your computer is powerful enough, IE9.
This will also help enormously for those that go on-line to a wide range of sites to buy goods and services.
We recommend that people who are unsure, download and install Google Chrome – a fast secure internet browser provided by Google. The new version of Audlem Online will run perfectly in the following browsers:
In due course, there will also be a special version of Audlem Online designed to run on smartphones. More details on this in the coming months.
If you have any queries or suggestions relating to our latest facelift please contact the webteam. To find out which internet browser you’re currently using, visit: http://www.whatbrowser.org/en/.
The webteam is already excited about how this upgrade is developing. If all goes to plan, it will be with you in the Spring, probably early April.
#Chairman's comment
The truth is, of course, that we have something that is stable, works pretty well and most users are familiar and reasonably comfortable with, so it must be time to change it.
These changes will require our users to upgrade to later versions of browsers which in turn may well require them to purchase expensive and essentiailly unnecessary upgrades to their hardware and software and quite probably require them to rewire their houses along the way.
But this is progress as defined by the global capitalist conspiracy of Intel, Microsoft, Google and Audlem Online so you will have to grin and bear it.
