The following is from the Audlem Medical Practice, kindly sent in Michael Willcocks,Social Prescribing Link Worker for Audlem Medical Practice.

Welcome to our practice update. Firstly, we would like to thank everyone for their continued patience while our building work is taking place. The build remains on schedule to be completed by the end of August. There has been a small delay due to problems with the groundwork which has delayed the Steel frames construction, but this is now underway and due on site very soon.

GP Appointments

We would like to advise you that the demand for GP appointments is very high at the moment, this is not just at Audlem, but across the country, please be assured that we are doing all we can to reduce the wait for routine appointments.

In addition to appointments here at the Practice, local pharmacies can offer immediate advice and treatment for minor ailments/illness. They have access to a consultation room on request. For further information on local pharmacies please visit the Nantwich and Rural Care Community website:
Pharmacies – Nantwich and Rural Care Community

Please be advised that urgent GP appointments should only be requested when an appointment is absolutely necessary on that same day.

Covid Vaccinations

The COVID spring booster campaign has been up and running for several weeks now. You are eligible if you are aged 75 and over, or living in a nursing home, and those who are immunosuppressed.

Audlem Medical Practice is not involved with the vaccination programme this time and there is no longer the vaccination centre at Nantwich Civic Hall. GP practices are focusing on seeing patients and keeping wait times for appointments as low as possible. Patients who are eligible will be contacted by NHS England and advised how to access an appointment. If you have any questions or would like to make an appointment you should call the COVID vaccination line on 119.

Those who are housebound or living in a nursing home will automatically be contacted and visited in the usual way by a specialist vaccination team.

Patient Participation Group

The Patient Participation Group (PPG) is the official communication link between the Practice and our patients. We currently have a panel of nine members and we meet every quarter. Our most recent meeting was on Thursday 4th May with Practice Manager, Diana Ryan, in attendance. The Practice Social Prescriber also attends all meetings.

If there is any feedback you would like to give to the Practice, or you wish to pass on a constructive comment or suggestion, then please channel this via your Patient representatives on the panel. Their collective email is as below:

audlemppg@gmail.com

The PPG is not to be used for complaints, these should be addressed instead to the Practice Manager.

The Chair of the PPG for the next 12 months is Charles Cavill.
