Audlem boat park: gone

We're grateul to roving-canal-based reporter Dave Martin who has sent this in regarding the closure of the Audlem Flight following recent damage:

"Judging by the number of baguettes in bags heading up the towpath this morning, the Co-op must have done well.

Canal & River Trust staff fixed the problem at Lock 4 by 1200 today, and there was a large contingent of Volunteers to help getting the boats moving through the locks.

Final boat count was 11 waiting to go up, 19 waiting to go down. Fortunately the storm held off until the boat-jam had cleared."
