An Audlem couple, and the strain of caring for their seriously ill son, is the front page lead story in this week's Chronicle.

Darren Broadhurst and Carolann Hyde-Green talk of the pressure of caring for 10-year old Liam who needs care 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The strain of providing round-the-clock care on their own pushed them to breaking point.

"As a family we were in crisis. The only people that helped us was Hope House Hospice."

The full story and their battle to get support is in the Chronicle's article – front page and continued on page four.

The Chronicle and last week's Market Drayton Advertiser – there are still a few copies left at Williams' newsagents – carry reports on the very successful Audlem Transport Festival. The Advertiser features many photographs while the Chronicle says: "Transport festival organisers hail their biggest and best event yet."

The Transport Festival and the up-coming Beer Festival are also featured in full-page articles in the Whitchurch and Market Drayton Gossip magazines which are distributed free throughout those towns and the villages surrounding them.
