John Edmonds writes to tell us of an email he has received from a Canadian friend who wrote: "Have you read 'Water Like a Stone' by Deborah Crombie? We really like Deborah Crombie's books and read this one when we were in Mexico. "She is an American author who writes English detective novels about Detective Superintendant Duncan Kincaid and Sergeant Gemma James. 'Water Like a
Stone' takes place in and around Nantwich and talks about Audlem and the
Shropshire Canal. It is also a good story!"
With a recommendation like that, and the bonus of local interest, it could well be worth searching out.
