Audlem History Society talk, May 2024

The next History Society talk, and the last one before the summer, will be given by Dorothy Nicolle on Thursday, 16th May at 7.30pm in the Scout and Guide Hall, Audlem, on the subject of “Thomas Telford’s Shropshire Legacy.”

Dorothy has spoken on many previous occasions to our History Society, and is an excellent speaker. She has always been fascinated by history, and now works as a tourist guide and lecturer in Shropshire. She has written over 30 books, and this time she will be talking about Thomas Telford, one of the finest engineers this country has ever produced. He built roads, bridges, canals (of course!), aqueducts, churches and even Shrewsbury prison.

We do hope you will be able to join us on the evening. All are welcome, (visitors please pay £4 on the door).
