This month's talk is by former Chemistry teacher, Mike Tingle, on the subject ofCheshire's salt industry.
As the last open-pan salt works in Britain, closing in 1986, Lion was a uniquelyimportant Heritage location.
Mike is a volunteer guide at the Lion works, and his talk explains how the workswas saved and restored as a visitor attraction.
He will also describe the background to the salt industry in general, and explainhow the open-pan process operated.
The talk will be held as usual in the Scout and Guide Hall, Audlem, starting at 7.30pmon Thursday, 17th April, 2025.
