The 27th/28th July, the weekend of Audlem Transport Festival, The Historic Narrow Boat Club will be gathering in Audlem.
There will be a fine collection of working and ex-working boats, they will be tied in the pounds between locks 12 and 15.
The boats all have very different and varied histories, several of the boats would have worked through Audlem carrying a wide range of cargoes, including cheese, oil, coal.
Please talk to the boat owners to find out more.
Saturn, a Shropshire Union Fly-Boat will be open to the public, see how the boatmen lived and learn about this important local boat and her cargoes.
Mendip, will be open to the public, Mendip used to carry chocolate chip from Knighton on the Shroppie to Bournville.
