Sadly I have once more to report that the powerful mistress, the EL Nino of the Pacific Ocean, has beaten us comprehensively. The sheer volume of precipitation that has been dropped hereabouts has turned the surface of the playing field to the consistency of porridge – or peanut butter if you like as there are a few crunchy bits mixed in with the mire.

We had hoped and hoped that the game would go ahead – versus Wistaston, and had everything organised for play. Referee booked. Pitch marked out. A fresh kit freshly laundered by our sponsor Audlem Dry Cleaners. Visitors accepting our invite to the Lord C chip butties and a great turn out of 16 Audlem players.

But the mini monsoon that hit us over Friday night/ Saturday morning really put the kibosh on our planning. As such, with Geoff Stretch, I had to call off the game and stand everybody down.

Hopefully we will get to play next Sunday when we travel to Sandbach . A good set up ,but they too have issues with muddy surfaces. Our team is truly champing at the bit having played our last game before Christmas.
