Audlem FC Match report

More of my musings. Born in my mind as I drive the lanes hereabouts .

Just think. The Dinosaurs roamed this earth for some 170 million years we are told. Just pause awhile. From the primeval soup of time billions of years ago and the first life of what was called a creature , those magnificent beasts evolved . Here on this blue planet. And as far as we know, no where else in this whole of the universe .

Then, 65million years ago- yes, 65 million years ago, they all were wiped out. By that meteorite that slammed into this planet near Mexico. The resultant cloud darkened all the earth for millions of years, and no sun and no plant life. So all died from cold and starvation. But the earth carried on and evolved again.

Fast forward, and the first hominids arrive in Ethiopia . Some 5 million years ago. Developing into early man.All is good. For thousands of years, then modern man begin destroying the planet. Exacerbated by the arrival of the industrial revolution. In the 19c. Just a tick away. Then slavery ,machines, oil, the internal combustion engine, medicines, And plastics . And greed. And we begin to destroy all the earth's goodness. Killing wildlife by the million . Ripping down the trees. All in just – shall we say, two hundred years. In terms of the time and age of planet earth , a mere blink of an eye. And I see no lessening of this destruction.

All greed and corruption and as we see all around us , the drive for yet more and more .

In relative time to the life of this wonderful planet of ours, I repeat , a mere blink of an eye. A brief moment of time that has – and will harm all until..........?.

What a legacy we have created for our grand children . And their children .

As I pen this, my very last report of our football year , the birds still fill the air with their song. A cathedral of sweet singing . The blossoms on trees and bushes all around me . So as of now. I do have a hope and a trust that our leaders will act wisely and with care and compassion and make our future years more promising .

Big game to come of Man City versus Liverpool . Huge game .

We begin again atop the league , holding on by our fingertips .

Away versus White Horse at Nantwich

Some of team away on holiday being middle os the Easter half term .

Kev Rodgers will be boss man today and his decision as to who starts the game .

He has a good turnout so has a headache in choosing the first eleven to take to the field.

To Nantwich . The Barony playing fields.

Referee is top man , Des Evans .

Super weather day . Sun and a light breeze.

Kick off. Every body bubbling as we get going .Normal testosterone fuelled beginning .

Team really keen .

Nick Gregory races up field. Shoots and goalie saves .first chance . Then a right melee in their goal mouth and from an assist by Tom Capewell our skipper , Seb Burrows scores.

First free kick goes to us . No gain

Superb run up field again by Nick Gregory . Ball to James Craig , our so strong midfielder . Who feeds Nick -and he nets !

Free kick to us after hand ball. Referee books their player. . But no gain for us.

Heavy foul on James Craig results in another card for WH .But no gain to us .

Audlem playing with much confidence as we boss the game . Easily 70% play is to us.

Free kick to us as Nick Gregory , our star strike, is fouled again . Cross by Rob Marin results in yet another cirner for us.

1140 a feed by Nick Gregory by Kev Rodgers results in Nick hitting the cross bar and James Craig gets the rebound and nets for another goal .

White Horse really under the cosh as we dominate all play. A lovely ball from Nick G is met by Seb Burrows who score a sweet goal.

Half time called .

Restart and still we dominate . Sunshine glorious.

Kev Rodgers plays his subs.

On comes Ben Walker, Tony Sindstadt,Tom Smart, and Danny Mahoney .

Last ever time Danny will play for us as he is moving to Bury .

Shot at outperform goal but Connie Baxter pulls off a superb save.

Corner after corner to us.

Mix up in WH's goal mouth results in an own goal as goalie hits it into his own net off of his defenders.KR was in the mix and gave an assist .

Own goal.

More subs played by us as players go back on for closing minutes .

Free kick to us. Nick Gregory floored again.

Then superb shot by Ben Walker crashes off the crossbar.

Game over .

Good win. Man of the Match – Seb Burrows.
