Start of the season

With last Saturday's friendly 'warm-up' game cancelled due to ground conditions being unfit for play Audlem start their league season at home against Audley on Saturday hoping to carry on as they left off last season. With one or two new faces optimism is high within the squad of another push towards promotion again this year. The Sunday X1 have their first game the following day when they face new opposition with the visit of Column CC from Shrewsbury.

Match fees

In the face of the economic difficulties being encountered by all of us the club has once again decided not to charge a membership fee for the season and continue with the policy of a pay per play for the third consecutive year. Match fees have been kept to a minimum to encourage new players with £ 5,00 per game for Saturdays and £ 7.00 for Sundays where a traditional cricket tea is provided.

We think it is good value compared to other sports and is kept low by the effort of all the volunteers who contribute in many ways to keep the club alive. Most of the clubs we face on a Saturday have greater resources and financial clout than ourselves with many of them having paid players within their ranks.

Nets

The first outdoor net of the season is planned for Thursday night ( weather permitting ) up at the Gorse Croft with everyone welcome to come along.
