At a well attended AGM of Audlem Charity Shop, £28000 was donated to local health related charities:
This represents another year of dedicated volunteering.
The audience was reminded that it is now 7 years since Cancer Research removed the public liability insurance thus ensuring closure of the shop; as happened to other independent shops nationwide.
After the business part of the meeting, there was a presentation entitled ' the way we were'. This was a short resume of the shop's history with contributions from several volunteers culminating in being brought up the date with successful e-bay sales.
We look forward to another happy and successful year which we hope to achieve with the continued support of the village, and in the words of one of our contributors, "we are not now an appendage" but an important part of village life.
Our very grateful thanks once again to Gary and Vicky for the use of the conservatory at The Bridge Inn for the AGM and for providing tea and coffee
