This very fine cemetery here in our village is a shining beacon amongst all such places in both Cheshire and Shropshire, as is said by visitors and funeral directors making use of what we have to offer.

A few words on the history of the place. Preparation began in 1872 and it opened in 1874 with the very first burial. The area was increased later as more land was bought .

The two beautiful Chapels are a listed building with unique timber ceilings and Minton tiled floors .
The whole operation of the cemetery is that of a non denominational place of rest, and is not affiliated to any one church . We have a burial committee that meets quarterly and is made up mainly of parish councillors from within the bounds of the ecclesiastical boundary centred on Audlem.

Management of the whole is in my hands with a small team who ensure the care of all is foremost . Much investment has been made over the last 16 years, with clearance of waste from atop the paupers graves; new paths tarmaced; front drive tarmaced; entry wall rebuilt ; new mower purchased every two years to ensure peak performance in the difficult task of mowing around some 2500 headstones.
The left hand chapel is perfect for Holistic and Humanist services as we have proved in the past.

We take in the wishes of many in their planning forward in the selective purchase of the rights to plots . Many take this path as each year the cost of a plot rises in price . Every plot here lasts forever.

A beautiful place walk round, to sit -- and think, in the peace and quiet .
We are open from early morning to early evening .
