Audlem Bowling Club held its second internal competition on Sunday, the Friendly Doubles.

30 members enjoyed a great morning/afternoon of bowling, again magnificently organised by Leslie Davenport who kept the event running seamlessly.

After a number of games during the league qualifying rounds, the semi finals were close affairs and eventually resulted in Ben Thelwell and Campbell Ward being matched against Jim Stretch and Fred Hickson in the Final.

The Final was nip and tuck during the early ends, with Fred's accurate lead bowls being finely countered by Campbell. However the consistent accuracy of Fred and Jim began to tell and they started to build a lead which Campbell and Ben were unable to close.

With the league season in its early stages and the weather hopefully changing for the better, all the Audlem teams are looking forward to a competitive season.
