Who gave over a grand to ADCA?

Audlem Bowling Club, that's who!

A very happy Laura Stevenson, ADCA's Carers and Dementia Support Coordinator, is seen here receiving a most generous cheque for £1,200 from the hands of Bob Bennion from Audlem Bowling Club.

The Bowling Club members raised this impressive sum through their annual Charity Plate competition, and chose to donate it to ADCA for the benefit of our Thursday Club.

We are very grateful for this donation, and for all the support given to ADCA by Bowling Club members.

What is the Thursday Club, you ask?

The Thursday Club is a unique weekly social support group for people in the Audlem area who are caring for someone with dementia – AND for the person they care for.

ADCA staff, with the help of volunteers who are trained in dementia support, run the club and put on a lively programme of both shared and separate activities for participants.

Carers particularly value the opportunity to share information with and get support from other carers, happy in the knowledge that the person they care for is safely enjoying supervised activities close by. Everybody comes together for a shared light lunch.

The Thursday Club members now have their thinking caps on to come up with ideas on how to use these funds in the most impactful way for the good of the club.

We are looking forward to seeing the results!
