Today's Chronicle reports that Jean Robertson of Browns Bank has entered two of her three pet bloodhounds, Boradin and Bouquet, into an off-beat competition to find a lookalike for characters from Walt Disney's classic film Lady and the Tramp. The competition is being run by the Kennel Club Charitable Trust and finalists will be judged at Crufts on Sunday 12th March.

Jean has lived in the village for 12 years and has previously owned seven blood hounds as well as the three she now has. The bloodhound's origins can be dated back to the Eighth Century (which might also make Boradin and Bouquet the winners of any local genealogy competition) and were bred originally to hunt wolves, deer and large game.
