A bid has been submitted to Cheshire County Council for a £107,000 Rural Enterprise Grant to help pay for a number of the projects detailed in the recently published Audlem Parish Plan. The money will go towards woodland planting, footpath improvements, pedestrian finger signposts and three painted dioramas (annotated maps) of the village which will help show visitors what services and attractions there are in the village.
The bids, which are very complex to assemble, have been submitted to the County with the help of the Nantwich Now Market Town project. A total of £700,000 is available for projects across Cheshire. Parish Plan chairman Bob Cartwright said: "There is no guarantee that we will get the money but having submitted the bid we are at least in with a chance. We are keeping our fingers crossed that this will bring in valuable funding for village projects."
