Thursday 16th November

The November meeting of Audlem History Society will be held on Thursday 16th November at 7.30pm. in the usual venue of the Scout and Guide Hall.

This month's meeting will feature a very short AGM , before the main talk which will be given by our out-going Chair, Jeremy Nicholls, on behalf of John Hickson, entitled "Nantwich: 50 Years of Change".

John was born in Crewe, but has lived in Nantwich for many years, and his interest in photography
has resulted in a large collection of local photographs which record the enormous changes in the area between 1969 and 2019. The photos include various stages of the pedestrianization of the Square and High Street, the construction of Water Lode and the relocation of the alms houses from Newcastle Road to Hospital Street.

It will be a fascinating evening and everyone is welcome, including visitors, (please pay £4 at the door on arrival). There will be time for questions after the talk, and refreshments will be served at the end of the evening, including mince pies.

We look forward to your company then.
