Audlem and District History Society

The first meeting of 2023 will be held this coming Thursday, 19th January, at 7.30pm, in the Scout and Guide Hall, when Graham Dodd is very kindly standing in at short notice, as there has had to be a last-minute change to the advertised programme.

Graham is a well-known speaker in history circles and has visited our Society on many occasions.
This time his subject will be "A Glimpse of Life on the Shropshire Union Canal".

The talk will aim to capture the essence of life on the canal, including its day-to-day operation, the challenges facing the boatmen and their families, the role of the horses and the variety of cargoes.
Graham is an exceptional speaker, and we are sure to have a really interesting evening, so we do hope you will come along to hear his talk.

Refreshments will be served afterwards.

Visitors are very welcome to attend, as always. The cost is £3, payable on the door please.
