Aston and District W.I. met on Friday 10th June at Broomhall Community Hall tocelebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.
Our President, Rosemary Lomas, gave a warm welcome to everyone and a bigthank you to all members of the committee for all their work in creating a wonderfulafternoon tea for all the members.
Sandwiches, cakes and scones were alldeliciously devoured after which we then had a jubilee quiz.
Judging of the ‘BestJubilee Inspired Hat’ took place and Rosemary Lomas was declared the winner.
Jubilee inspired prizes were given to raffle winners and the afternoon was brought toa close with music and a roaring chorus of Rule Britannia with lots of energetic flagwaving!
This month's walk will take place on Wednesday 15th June and walkers are to meetat The Swan at Wybunbury at 10.30 a.m.
Luncheon Club will meet at the Red Lion, Wybunbury on Tues 14th June at 12.00.
Members were reminded about the forthcoming visit to the Dorothy Clive Gardenand also the Centenary meal later in the year on the 26th October.
Our next meeting will take place at Aston Chapel on Friday, July 1st at 7.15 p.m. Ourtalk will be entitled "Blood Bikers". The competition will be something ‘Red’.
