The March meeting was held on Friday 2nd March at St. Andrews Chapel, Aston at 7.15pm.
Our President Jenny Bourne welcomed everyone who had braved the severe weather to venture out and enjoy our meeting.
Members were reminded that the next Luncheon Club meeting would be at the Lord Combermere in Audlem and all classes are ongoing.
We were pleased to hear that our Quiz Team came third in the County Quiz. Well done.
Our speaker Mrs. Linda Banks from Hope House gave us a very interesting and informative talk about the work of the children's charity which offers palliative care to young sick children and their families. She spoke about the many ways in which people can volunteer and get involved to help raise funds for the charity. While she was talking she created four beautiful and imaginative flower arrangements called Hope, Volunteer, Donation and Easter, all of which were donated to the raffle at the end of the evening.
The vote of thanks was given by Mrs. Kay Epton.
Our competition this evening was a 'Posy in a Teacup' – won by Mrs. Rose Lomas.
Our next meeting is on Friday April 6th when Mr. Michael John Parkin will present his talk "Mount Kilimanjaro Experience" & "Nantwich Show"
