Glenys Inight, our President, welcomed everyone to the Christmas party, Dorothy Relton said Grace following which the members enjoyed a lovely lunch catered by Beech Tree Catering.

Chris Bailey was our Guest. A donation bucket was sent around, and the donations were sent to the air ambulance.
Mr Bill Durose then entertained us with " Tales of the Sixties" telling tales and singing some familiar songs – ending with two Christmas songs. It brought back lots of memories.

Sheila Jones gave the vote of thanks. Kay Epton won the competition for number of Buttons in a jar. Five members won the Christmas Raffle prizes.

The business of the meeting included:

  • The announcement of the new committee members.
  • The president had laid a wreath on behalf of the W.I. at Aston for Remembrance.
  • Members were informed about the resolution's workshops in February and the County darts matches.
  • Members were asked if they would like to go and see "Made in Dagenham" at the Lyceum Theatre, Crewe in March.

The Luncheon Club and Walking Group will all recommence shortly.

Our next meeting, at Broomhall & Sound Community Room, is on Friday February 7th 2025 at 2.00pm when the speaker will be telling us about " History of Lighthouses" Competition is for a torch.
