Our President, Glenys Inight, welcomed everyone to the meeting.

After singing Jerusalem she introduced our speaker for the evening Mr Roger Devonside " The Incredible Levitating Wing walker" Roger, has raised thousands of pounds for charities after taking to the skies.

He said: "It is very scary but very exciting, quite a rush. The daring 64-year-old holds the world record of wing walking for every sponsored plane including Cadbury's Crunchie, Utterly Butterly and Guinot. He wing walked down the River Mersey on Beatles day and joked "It was not only Paul McCartney that had wings" The oldest lady to wing walk was Betty Bromage and she was 93!! He told us ladies, were never too old to reach for the sky. His very interesting talk finished with him saying he was now banned as he was over 9 stone and too tall !!

The winner of the competition for a postcard was Sheila Jones.

Kay Epton gave the vote of thanks.

We then moved onto the business; our president reminded us of the Annual general meeting on June 4th when the resolution " Bystanders can be lifesavers" was unanimously agreed.

Rosie Lomas, our delegate, then gave a very comprehensive report after attending The Cheshire Federation Spring meeting.

Diane Joslyn then reported on the Group meeting, where Sheila Jones came third in the competition and reminded members of the Group trip to the Black Country Museum.

Some of our members had been to see the excellent production " Made in Dagenham" at the Lyceum theatre and members were asked if any would be interested in going to see "Black Adder goes Forth" at Nantwich Players Theatre in May.

Irene, our secretary, then informed the members that Cheshire East Council had now agreed to extend the funding for another year following the petition "Cheshire without abuse" which we along with others had sent to Council.
