When AudlemOnline received this email we had to take a look.

It said: "If like me you find 24 hour rolling news really irritating, you've gotta watch this parody from The Onion. Brilliant!"

As all who have worked in the news industry will know, the period between Christmas and the New Year is one of the toughest as news can be a wee bit thin on the ground as your normal contributors are otherwise engaged and 'events' are focused on family and friends.

Even AudlemOnline has struggled to find half a dozen stories a day to keep you entertained and even for some of that number we have heard shrieks of "filler"! As indeed we will as you read this.

Just a warning, however, there's a little bit of ripe language in the clip from The Onion – which is why we didn't run it on Christmas Day. But it does say it all about some news, particularly if you have ever watched American TV.
