The January ARS walk, cancelled because of icy conditions on 9th January, has been re-arranged for this coming Saturday, 30th January.

It's a gentle start to the 2010 programme for ARS (Audlem Ramblers Society) with a 9 mile circular walk around Ellesmere organised by Geoff Baddley.

Geoff describes the walk thus: "This should be a rewarding 9 mile walk to include some lovely stretches of the Ellesmere canal taking in along the route "Blakemere & Colemere" Meres before we break off towards attractive open country side to the village of Lyneal and on to Welshampton.

"From Welshampton we will continue across open country side back towards Ellesmere descending across the fields to continue the walk around the rear side of the Mere and back to the car park at the Mere side.

"There will be some stiles to negotiate."

It's an 8.30am start from Audlem car park. Anybody that's not a member of ARS and wishes to join this walk should contact Andy Davidson for advice on boots, equipment etc at andydavidsonatb@hotmail.com">andydavidsonatb@hotmail.com
