This month's ARS (Audlem Ramblers Society) trip is to Moel Famau in the Clwydian Hills this coming Saturday.

Moel Famau is a pleasant hill of 554 metres with good views of Snowdonia (it's hoped) and is well drained so hopefully won't be too wet underfoot.

The route of 9.5 miles starts and finishes at Loggerheads Country Park which has a nice pub just by it. For the energetic there might be an option of extending the walk by a few miles to take in Moel Dywyll and a ridge walk along Offas Dyke.

The terrain is on good paths, bridleways and country lanes and is covered by OS explorer map 265 or landranger 116. For those interested in joining the walk, meet at 8am at Audlem car park, Saturday morning. ARS did this walk, or very similar, three years ago and it is very pleasant with stunning views.
