May's Long ARS (Audlem Ramblers Society) walk this coming Saturday is organised by Peter Kay and below is his description:

This is a walk in South Shropshire through pleasantly varied undulating countryside skirting the Stiperstones and Corndon Hill.

We start near the Tankerville Pottery just up the road from Stiperstones village. It's then south-west past Grit Hill and over Mill Hill before turning north-west and crossing the A488.

At the Mitchell's Fold Stone Circle we head north-east below Stapeley Hill, crossing the flank of Bromlow Callow on the way to Bentlawnt. It's then south-east recrossing the A488 near Hope, up over a steep bank, back to the valley and finally along a wooded ridge southward to Tankerville.

Dog owners please note: This is sheep country and when we redid the walk last weekend there were plenty of lambs about.

Length: about 10 miles.
Height gain: 1200 ft.
Grade: moderate 3 boot
Start time at Audlem Public Hall Car Park: 8.30
