Short-ARS on Saturday February 25th

John Tilling is leading the next short ARS walk of about 5 miles from Betchton near Alsager along the old Salt Line to Lawton Heath, then a mile of minor roads and tracks up to the Trent & Mersey and back along the towpath. He describes it as mainly flat, easy, and quite dog-friendly. There is one unavoidable stile, one ascent of perhaps forty feet, and thankfully not much mud.

It is 25-30 minutes' drive to a free car park at CW11 4YB (no toilets) where we start. Meet as usual in Audlem public car park at 9.30 am

NB All walkers must have suitable footwear and be prepared for adverse weather, carry food and water to last for the entire walk and be suitably fit for the various lengths of walk.

Each walk is led by a nominated leader who will carry some first-aid equipment. The leader has the right to refuse to include in a group anyone who is felt not be adequately equipped.
