Next Saturday's walk is organised by John Vickers and below is his description.

"A ten mile/six hour walk from Capel Curig over varied terrain taking in three beautiful lakes and with approximately 1750 feet of ascent.

"Underfoot we experience everything from tarmac road through rocky uneven paths to grassy moorland tracks and peat bogs, so stout boots/footwear essential. There are also occasional stiles.

"The walk is dog friendly but be prepared to use leads when we pass through sheep grazing.

"Be ready to start walking at 10.00am so I suggest a meet in Audlem car park at 8.00am. We should be back in Audlem by 6.30pm. latest.

"The walk starts from the car park behind Joe Brown’s shop in Capel Curig. There are toilets and there is no charge for parking.

"We head east across open heath and through mixed woodland and forest to have morning coffee by Llyn Bychan. Then on to the northern end of Llyn Geirionydd for lunch and then over a low coll to Llyn Crafnant.

"Here we have a choice as to which side of the lake we walk. On the west side there is a forest track and on the east the route passes a licensed tea room specializing in homemade cakes and possessing facilities – difficult choice.

"Then, as with all good walks there is a sting in the tail, a steep pull over the coll at the southern end of the lake and then back down to Capel Curig."

I would rate it as a 3 booter on ARS's scale of difficulty.
