This coming Saturday's Audlem Ramblers Society walk is in North Wales at an area ARS hasn't explored before. It's organised by Howard Jones.

This is his description of the walk:

"Located near Clocaenog Forest, Llyn Brenig is actually a reservoir and is the largest area of inland water in Wales.

"The walk circumnavigates the lake and comprises 9.7 miles of relatively flat terrain which is why I have given it a 2+ boot rating. Although the recce was conducted in deep snow, this should have disappeared completely by Saturday leaving a few soggy bits.

"For those wishing to extend the walk there is an additional 5 miles around the nearby Alwen reservoir.

"The lake can be reached via the A5 out of Llangollen through Corwen, turning right at Cerrigydrudion following the B4501. Lyn Brenig is then signposted.

"There is a visitors centre, a cafe, and viewing point so binocculars would be useful.

"Below is a link to read more about the area if you wish.

It's an 8.30am start at Audlem carpark on Saturday."
