ARS Christmas Walk – Cannock Chase

Our next long ARS walk, led by Kate Down, is on Saturday 10th December. Meet Audlem Car Park 8.30 am.

It is a circular walk on Cannock Chase, including parts of Heart of England Way, Two Saints Way, and Sherbrook Valley. It is undulating but on good paths and tracks, and is about 8.5 miles and 1000 ft of ascent and descent. There are a few steep sections. But they are short and the paths are relatively dry. No stiles.

On the recce, there were only a few bikes, but there may be more on a Saturday, so we need to be aware of this.

We park on Milford Common ST17 0UH which has a £2 parking charge — coins only- and there are toilets. About 50 min drive.

Meet at Audlem carpark at 8.30 am – we should be back in Audlem around 3pm.

NB All walkers must have suitable footwear and be prepared for adverse weather, carry food and water to last for the entire walk and be suitably fit for the various lengths of walk.

Each walk is led by a nominated leader who will carry some first-aid equipment. The leader has the right to refuse to include in a group anyone who is felt not be adequately equipped.

Non-members of Audlem Rambling Society (ARS) are welcome to come on a walk but are expected to join ARS and pay the membership fee after a trial walk or two.
