Many readers will have heard the news and read Antoinette Sandbach's last Newsletter which announced the conservative whip had been withdrawn from her and that the local Conservative membership had voted to deselect Antoinette Sandbach as MP for Eddisbury.
Ms Sandbach, who said she voted three times for Theresa May's Brexit deal and for Boris Johnson's second reading, announced that she is joining the Liberal Democrat Party and will stand as their candidate for Eddisbury, on a platform to revoke Article 50 and remain in the European Union.
In an interview on BBC North West at lunch time on Friday she indicated she had been in discussion with the Liberal Democrats for some time before the Conservative whip was withdrawn.
