Just when you thought it was all over! As the vote poll on www.audlem.org that finished last week showed an overwhelming majority for a ban on smoking in all public places in Audlem, new information now provides a twist to the debate. As in so many health issues it seems there are two sides to the story. A survey just published by University College in London, based on a study of 30,000 non-smokers in the USA, says that smoking bans in public places lead to children being exposed to higher levels of tobacco smoke at home.

Perhaps the only solution is to make a series of New Year's resolutions. Either don't smoke, don't have children, don't go to public places or don't go home – or any combination of three out of the four resolutions should work! The choice is yours.
