Another right jam

While the new Co-op is working hard to avoid traffic problems in the village centre by encouraging deliveries through the archway of Moseley's Yard, maintenance work in the courtyard has meant some deliveries have again blocked Shropshire Street, a local "special correspondent" reports.

On Friday, the road was blocked completely when an HGV was stuck for 15 minutes – the driver even left his cab to try and direct traffic and sort out the chaos! Pedestrians were forced in to the middle of the road while, in something of a role reversal, cars tried to circumvent the jam by using the pavement!

Our correspondent did receive a call from Co-op area manager Mr Paul Jenkinson, who is concerned about the issues and is working hard with his team to solve them. It seems, however, pressure will have to kept on the developers to maintain the access to the rear so that the Co-op can normally make off-road deliveries.
