Another NSPCC fundraiser

Do you know your confectionery? If so, why not enter the latest quiz that is being organised by the Audlem branch of the NSPCC? All you have to do is buy a copy of the quiz sheet – available from committee members or McKelvey's for £1 – and fill in the answers to the cryptic clues. All the clues relate to confectionery. For example, Clever Folk – and the answer is Smarties.

All entries need to be sent to the organiser: Michelle Perkin, Mere Farm, Woodhouse Lane, Audlem, Cheshire CW3 0DT before the closing date of 10th October. The winner will be notified by post and the prize is a big box of Thornton's chocolates.

Also, don't forget the NSPCC Family Treasure Hunt which starts at 2pm at the Scout & Guide Hall on Sunday 13th July. The treasure hunt has been designed for family groups walking within the village. The cost is £5 per family and refreshments will be available afterwards at the Scout & Guide Hall. For more information call 01270 811959.
