Could this be you? Or someone you know?
ADCA (Audlem & District Community Action) is a well-known local charity supporting older people in the Audlem area of Cheshire East. Our clubs provide a great opportunity to socialise and relax in comfortable surroundings and take part in a number of enjoyable activities.
We are looking for an enthusiastic Catering Assistant to help us out in two of our clubs with a most important activity. Lunch!
Up to 25 people – ADCA club members, staff and volunteers – look forward every week to enjoying a tasty lunch at our Tuesday and Wednesday clubs in Audlem and Hankelow. You could be an important part of the team that helps to make their day.
You will take charge of preparing and serving a precooked two-course meal at the Tuesday Club in Audlem, and a lighter lunch at the Wednesday Club in Hankelow.
There are modern kitchens in both venues, and you will have help from staff and volunteers to serve and clear away.
In addition, you will be able to take part in the menu planning, and will be able to contribute your own ideas.
You need:
working knowledge of food preparation
good understanding of food hygiene
some experience of preparing meals for larger groups (not necessarily work-related)
ability to work to a schedule and organise your tasks
Previous experience of catering for older people would be an asset.
Before you start you will be given guidance on the requirements of ADCA's Food Hygiene Policy and other ADCA Policies.
Note: Appointment is subject to Enhanced DBS clearance (which discloses all convictions and cautions whether spent or unspent) and a probationary period.
